Why I Went to Thailand (and What It Taught Me About Creating the Retreat of My Dreams)

When I first started FlourishWell Retreats, I had a vision...a space where women with ADHD could breathe, create, laugh, cry if needed, and reconnect with themselves in a way that felt safe and joyful.
But turning that dream into something real? That took patience, a plane ticket, a journal, and a bold decision to fly to the other side of the world with no previous experience.
So, let me tell you what really happened in Thailand.
Why I Went to Thailand?
This wasn’t a holiday (though yeah, the views were gorgeous). I flew to Thailand on a mission: to plan my very first FlourishWell Retreat! A week-long experience for neurodivergent women who are ready to rest, recharge, and rediscover their creative spark.
I wanted to see everything for myself. Not just the villas, but the energy. The people. The food. The feeling. Could this be the place where women like us could come, unplug from the world, and finally hear their own thoughts again?
Spoiler: it absolutely is.
What I Did While I Was There
From the moment I landed, I was fully in planning mode, but also present. Here’s a little glimpse into what my time in Thailand looked like:
Visited stunning villas tucked into the hills and surrounded by nature, each one more peaceful than the last. I needed a space that felt luxurious yet grounding and I found some gems and finally chose the final villa! (see wellness tab for pictures)
Met with private chefs to talk menus, flavours, and ADHD-friendly nutrition. (Let’s just say, you’ll be well-fed and satisfied.)
Scouted experiences like guided meditations on the beach, island excursions, kayaking, and relaxing massages. Thailand has so much beauty to offer, and I wanted to hand-pick activities that balance stimulation with stillness.
Connected with wellness practitioners — from yoga teachers to breathwork coaches who align with the FlourishWell mission and understand the unique needs of neurodivergent women.
Took time to reflect, journal, and reconnect with why I’m doing this. There were quiet mornings, sunsets that made me emotional, and moments where I could literally see the retreat vision coming to life in front of me.
What I Learned
I’ve always believed in this mission, but being in Thailand made it real. I realised how much beauty there is in slowing down. In stepping outside of routine. In giving ourselves permission to just be.
This trip reminded me why FlourishWell Retreats needs to exist. Because so many of us, especially those of us with ADHD are burned out from masking, overstimulated by life, and exhausted by the pressure to “keep up.”
We need rest. We need creativity. We need connection. And we need it in a space that doesn’t ask us to change who we are to access healing.
What Happens Next?
Now that I’m back in the UK, I’m finalising all the retreat details, from creating content, marketing and organising practitioner collaborations to help with the full itinerary. The first FlourishWell Retreat is scheduled for November 2026, and spots will be limited.
If this sounds like something your soul’s been craving, I invite you to join the waitlist. You’ll be the first to get updates, early access to spots, and exclusive behind-the-scenes looks at everything we’re building.
Thailand was the beginning. But what comes next? That’s where the magic really begins.
Untill next time Peeps x
